This Privacy Policy explains how the AssetVault app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”), developed by iDev (“we”, “us”), handles your information.
In short: AssetVault works entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no servers, no advertising and no analytics or tracking. iDev does not collect, receive or sell any of your information.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter is stored in the app's private storage on your device:
- Your records — assets and components, warranties, maintenance schedules, service records, expenses, profiles and categories, including any purchase details, prices, serial numbers and notes you add.
- Photos and documents you add — images and PDFs you scan, photograph or import are saved inside the app and protected with iOS file encryption (they can only be read while your device is unlocked).
- Settings — preferences such as currency, appearance and reminder times.
Permissions
- Camera — used only when you choose to photograph an asset or scan a document. AssetVault asks for permission the first time.
- Photos — photos are chosen with Apple's photo picker, so the app only receives the photos you pick and cannot see the rest of your library. No photo library permission is requested.
- Files — documents you import are chosen with Apple's document picker.
- Notifications — if you set a reminder, AssetVault asks to send local notifications for warranty expiry and upcoming maintenance. These are scheduled on your device; no push notification service is used.
Fill from Photo
When you use Fill from Photo, Receipt, Invoice or Warranty Card, the image is analysed on your device using Apple's Vision framework (text recognition, barcode detection and image classification) and, where available, Apple Intelligence's on-device language model. The image and the text read from it are not sent to iDev or any other server. The photo is only kept if you choose to attach it to the record.
When information leaves your device
AssetVault does not make network connections. Information only leaves your device when you choose:
- Exports and sharing — CSV exports and documents you share are sent to the destination you pick (for example Files, Mail or Messages), under that service's own privacy policy.
- Device backups — iCloud or computer backups of your device include the app's data, according to your device's backup settings.
What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information, usage data, location or device identifiers.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, or any third-party code.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, or share data with data brokers.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete any record from its screen; attached files that no other record uses are deleted with it. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device (copies may remain in existing device backups until those backups are replaced).
Purchases
AssetVault does not contain advertising. If the app is offered for a price or with in-app purchases, payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive your payment details.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold your personal information, we have no personal data about you to access, correct or delete — everything is under your control on your device, as described above. If you have questions or wish to exercise any rights you may have under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this policy, post the new version at this address and change the effective date below. Significant changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
