Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. AssetVault has no sign-in. Profiles such as “Me” and “Family” are just labels for who owns an item; they aren't accounts and don't restrict access.
How does “Fill from Photo” work?
When adding an asset, expense, service or warranty, tap Fill from Photo (or Receipt, Invoice, Warranty Card). AssetVault reads the text and barcodes on your device using Apple's Vision framework and, on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device language model. Suggested values are shown for you to check before they're applied. The photo isn't uploaded anywhere, and it's only kept if you choose to attach it.
I'm not getting warranty or maintenance reminders.
Check that reminders are on in AssetVault's Settings, and that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings › Notifications › AssetVault. Reminders are scheduled for a warranty end date or a maintenance due date, at the reminder time you choose. You can change the “expiring soon” and “due soon” windows in Settings.
How do I back up or move my data?
Your records are included in your normal iCloud or computer backup of your device. You can also use Settings › Export to CSV to save spreadsheets of your assets, warranties, maintenance schedules, service records and expenses. CSV files can't currently be imported back into the app.
Does AssetVault sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not at the moment. Data is stored only on the device where you enter it.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete any asset, warranty, schedule, service record, expense or document from its screen. Attached files that are no longer used by any record are removed. To remove everything, delete the app from your device.
