PriceKeeper Privacy Policy

Effective 1 November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the PriceKeeper app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”), developed by iDev (“we”, “us”), handles your information.

In short: PriceKeeper works entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no servers, no advertising and no analytics or tracking, and it doesn't connect to the internet. iDev does not collect, receive or sell any of your information.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter is stored in the app's private storage on your device:

  • Your records: items, categories, shops, purchases with their prices, quantities and discounts, shopping lists and notes, and the text recognised from bills you scan.
  • Photos: item photos and bill photos you choose to keep are saved inside the app and protected with iOS file encryption (they can only be read while your device is unlocked).
  • Settings: preferences such as currency, comparison unit, appearance and whether backups include photos.

Permissions

  • Camera: used only when you choose to scan a bill, a price tag or a barcode. PriceKeeper asks for permission the first time.
  • Photos: photos are chosen with Apple's photo picker, so the app only receives the photos you pick and cannot see the rest of your library. No photo library permission is requested.
  • Files: backups you restore are chosen with Apple's document picker, and exports are saved where you choose.

Scanning bills, price tags and barcodes

Bills, price tags and barcodes are read on your device using Apple's Vision and VisionKit frameworks. The images and the text read from them are not sent to iDev or any other server. A price tag photo is not kept. A bill's photos are kept with the purchase only if you save it, and you can delete them at any time.

When information leaves your device

PriceKeeper does not make network connections. Information only leaves your device when you choose:

  • Exports and backups: CSV exports and backup files are saved to the place you pick (for example Files or iCloud Drive), under that service's own privacy policy.
  • Device backups: iCloud or computer backups of your device include the app's data, according to your device's backup settings.

What we do not do

  • We do not collect personal information, usage data, location or device identifiers.
  • We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, or any third-party code.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites, or share data with data brokers.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete any item, purchase, list or bill photo in the app, or remove everything with Settings › Erase All Data. You can turn off camera access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device; backup files you exported are kept until you delete them.

Purchases

PriceKeeper does not contain advertising. If the app is offered for a price or with in-app purchases, payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive your payment details.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold your personal information, we have no personal data about you to access, correct or delete — everything is under your control on your device, as described above. If you have questions or wish to exercise any rights you may have under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this policy, post the new version at this address and change the effective date below. Significant changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
